This is a concise, flexible course for students wishing to write for children. It focuses on core skills and also gives students the opportunity to explore the market for children’s writing.

You will complete 4 modules and 2 tutor-marked assignments under the guidance of an experienced tutor. The assignments are flexible to allow for your personal writing interests. Study topics include: children and young people as readers; understanding a young audience; writing for education; picture books; children’s fiction; information books; knowing the market; working with editors and publishers.
