Stress Management for Teachers and Support Staff

This course provides a comprehensive guide to stress management for teachers and support staff. It explores causes of stress and the importance of identifying and managing stress at an early stage, as well as approaches to reducing stress. Finally, it looks at the subject of burnout, considering how it can be identified and prevented, and looks at whole school approaches designed to provide effective support for teachers and support staff. This course is suitable for teachers, FE lecturers and support staff who would like to develop more effective stress management strategies and avoid burnout.

The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are experienced counsellors who have experience of stress management in schools and colleges.

Study topics include: identifying causes of stress; assessing your stress level; physical and emotional consequences of stress; dealing with anxiety; identifying burnout; recovering from burnout; a whole life approach; maintaining professional boundaries; achieving work-life balance; providing a support framework for all staff within the workplace. Includes all study materials, course textbook, Relaxation and Stress Reduction Workbook, and full tutorial support.

Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On successful completion of the course students are awarded a certificate of course completion.
