Stress Management

In today’s rapidly changing, high-pressure workplace, many people report excess stress levels. This course is designed for managers and supervisors whose role involves both preventing negative stress and supporting staff it if it does occur.

The course shows you how to define and identify the causes and symptoms of negative stress. It also considers a range of approaches and techniques that can be used to prevent stress, and create a culture that is supportive of those experiencing stress rather than inadvertently exacerbating the problem. Finally it considers how managers and supervisors can develop stress management strategies that are both useful for individuals within the workplace and relevant across teams and organisations.

Subjects covered include: defining stress; the impact of workplace stress; causes of stress; symptoms of stress; recognising stress in the individual; stress management strategies for individuals, teams and organisations; measuring stress levels; stress and the law; taking action.

The course includes all study material, course textbook, Stress at Work, Management and Prevention by Jeremy Stranks, a detailed guide to study skills, and full tutorial support from your expert personal tutor.

On successful completion of the course students are awarded a Learning Curve certificate. Learning Curve is accredited as a training provider by the Open and Distance Learning Council.

Our course is composed of 4 easy-to-follow modules. There are 4 tutor-marked assignments. It involves approximately 28 hours of study time.
