Clear communication is at the heart of every successful business and organisation. We communicate every day to inform, influence, persuade and motivate others. However, few of us have any training in this critical area. As a result we are not sure how to communicate effectively with others, or why, despite our best efforts, we often fail to get the results we want.

This course explores the principles of clear, persuasive communication, introducing a range of practical techniques and approaches.

Anyone whose work requires them to communicate effectively with others will find this course useful.
Subjects covered include: understand the process of communication; methods of communicating; choosing the right method to meet your goals; building rapport; understanding the other person; principles of negotiation; NLP and communication; achieving clear communication in different media; personality and communication; identifying individual communication styles; understanding verbal and non-verbal signals; handling misunderstandings.

The course includes all study material, course textbook, Improve Your Communication Skills, by Alan Barker, a detailed guide to study skills, and full tutorial support from your expert personal tutor.

On successful completion of the course students are awarded a Learning Curve certificate. Learning Curve is accredited as a training provider by the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council.

Our course is composed of 4 easy-to-follow modules. There are 4 tutor-marked assignments. It involves approximately 28 hours of study time.
